Nick Chubb Practices Again Tuesday, Splits First-Team Reps

Nick Chubb Practices Again Tuesday, Splits First-Team Reps

Texans RB Nick Chubb (concussion) participated in practice again on Tuesday and split first-team reps, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston.

Chargers OC Greg Roman stated that rookie RB Omarion Hampton will be part of a Week 1 rotation, according to ESPN’s Kris Rhim, even if RB Najee Harris (eye) is unavailable.

Vikings WR Rondale Moore suffered a season-ending knee injury on Saturday, according to Kevin Seifert of ESPN.

Cowboys’ RB Miles Sanders, who had been sidelined with a knee issue, returned to practice on Tuesday, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

Falcons WR Darnell Mooney remains sidelined with the shoulder injury he suffered on July 24. HC Raheem Morris said Tuesday that Mooney is "week to week" with no clear timetable for return.

Jets TE Mason Taylor returned to practice on Tuesday and was moving well. The rookie ended up missing just one week with what HC Aaron Glenn labeled a high-ankle sprain. Taylor was off to a strong start before going down and should still be on track to open the season as New York's lead TE. He even has a chance to emerge as the No. 2 target in this passing game, although the fantasy upside is capped by what figures to be a run-heavy, Justin Fields-led offense.

Packers WR Christian Watson (ACL) is expected to begin the regular season on the PUP list, per GM Brian Gutekunst. That would knock him out of the first four games. The good news is that Watson has looked spry in videos from training camp, and it appears he'll have a real shot to return following a Week 5 bye.

Packers QB Jordan Love is undergoing surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb, GM Brian Gutekunst announced. Love banged the non-throwing thumb on a helmet in Green Bay's preseason opener on Saturday. Gutekunst called it a "little procedure" and said Love "shouldn't miss any regular-season time." He added that the team is hoping to get Love back at practice next week.

Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) will not practice on Tuesday, HC Brian Daboll said. Nabers hasn't practiced since August 6, according to SNY's Connor Hughes. Daboll wouldn't say whether Nabers needs additional testing on his troublesome toe.

Bills RB James Cook was back on the practice field on Tuesday. He participated at the start of camp but then staged a "hold-in" for a little over a week, which included Buffalo's preseason opener. We're frankly not sure what Cook's strategy is here, or if he has any intention of sitting out regular-season games without a new contract. We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation. For now, we're projecting Cook to play the entire season. See where he lands in the RB rankings.
